Can I still use the service while I am not travelling? I don’t have a passport?
Yes. You still can use the service if you aren’t travelling. If you don’t have a passport you may register using your national ID number however the test report might not be valid for at the airport.
How to change my details in the application?
Before you finish your application and proceed for payment, we ask for your confirmation on the details submitted for accuracy purposes however upon completion of your application and payment confirmation you won’t be able to change any details in the application. If you still need to change details, please email us at [email protected] and one of our service agents will assist you.
Note: This is allowed only if the laboratory has not collected your sample yet. Once your sample has been collected, your information details cannot be amended.
I have not received any booking/registration email.
If you have not received your registration email within 30 minutes:
- Please check your spam/junk folder.
- If you have still not received the registration email, please contact our customer support using the “Contact Us” form.
I cannot upload my scanned passport.
- Your scanned passport copy should be in one of these formats: PDF, JPEG, JPG, or PNG.
- The limit on the upload size is 2 MB - Please ensure your upload is not larger than this limit.
I want to cancel my application.
Kindly send a cancellation request within 7 days from registration date, our team will process your refund
Note: This is allowed only if the laboratory has not collected your sample yet. Once your sample has been collected, your application cannot be canceled.
Can I apply for multiple application for myself?
Yes, should you have multiple flights or need more than one result certificate, you are able to apply for multiple applications.
Note: Please check your local rules and regulations related to the validity of the test result certificate.
Can one email address be used for multiple applications if I am registering for someone else?
Yes, you may use the same email address to register multiple applicants. Simply click on “Someone Else” while entering applicant details.
Do I need any specific authorization from the departure/arrival government country to get my COVID-19 test?
Kindly refer to the departure/arrival country rules and regulations about the COVID-19 travel test requirements.
Can I use this portal to conduct a COVID-19 test to travel anywhere in the world?
Egypt PCR Portal has collaborated with accredited labs within Egypt to provide the RT-PCR COVID-19 screening required for travelers. Specific arrival country rules and regulations about the COVID-19 travel test requirements may apply. You may also check if we have partners in your destination to book your test if you are travelling back to Egypt
PAYMENT AND REFUND
Can I pay in cash at the lab?
Unfortunately, we don’t accept cash at the moment, you can only pay using your debit or credit card.
How can I apply for a refund?
You need to cancel your application by following the below steps:
- Send an email to our team within 5 days of payment via the “Contact Us” form
- Please mention the reason for cancellation and our team will get back to you
Note: You will receive a confirmation of the cancellation by email. It takes 72 hours to process the cancellation request. Cancellation is allowed only if the laboratory has not collected the sample. Once the sample has been collected the application cannot be cancelled.
How long will my refund take?
Once approved, your refunds will take up to 40 working days to be processed, please check with your relevant bank and/or credit card companies as the timelines may vary as per their own policy. However we will make sure we process it from our end within the 72 hours upon your request.
How much does the test cost?
You will receive a confirmation on the final cost before proceeding with payment. The test cost varies based on the service or package purchased, your local currency, related exchange rate and local bank charges at the time of payment.
For online payment, will I be charged an exchange rate?
Exchange rates and conversion fees will be deducted as per your local bank’s policy, if applicable.
My credit card isn’t working to pay for my test
You need to check with your bank, as some banks need authorization when making certain online purchases. If the problem persists, kindly send us an email to through contact us form available on the portal or send an email to [email protected] with evidence of payment failure, we will assist you.
I didn’t receive my invoice?
The portal will send you invoice upon payment to your registered email. You may also download a copy from your account. Please select the required application from the application dashboard on your account, click on action, and you will have the option to download a copy of the invoice.
What is the cancellation fee in case of refund?
You will only be refunded for the actual test amount, excluding any charges or currency differences.
How long the test takes at the lab?
It takes only 5 minutes at the lab to collect your sample for the PCR test. Once your sample is received you will receive an email confirmation that your sample received.
Can I ask for a home visit for sample collection?
Yes, you can request a home visit by contracting the laboratory directly. This will cost additional fee of EGP 100 to be paid in cash directly to the laboratory representative visiting your home.
What are the available appointments in the coming days?
Kindly note that some laboratories will have their available appointment slots on our portal for you to choose your preferred appointment date and time. However, for those laboratories who do not have this option available, you will be provided with their contact details in the confirmation email.
I want to change my laboratory location.
If you already completed the payment and your application is confirmed unfortunately you can't change it. Kindly send us an email through the “Contact Us” form available on the portal or send an email to [email protected]
I want to change my appointment with the laboratory.
For appointments booked through our Egypt PCR portal, please contact the lab directly for changing timing of your appointment.
There is no appointment booking system for my selected laboratory. How do I book?
You may contact the laboratory directly using the phone number in your confirmation email.
What kind of COVID-19 test will the medical facility conduct?
The laboratory will proceed with a nasal swab “RT-PCR” to test for COVID-19 unless specified otherwise.
I called the laboratory and they said they don’t know anything about Egypt PCR.
Kindly note that you will receive the contact details of the laboratory you have selected via email after you have registered on Egypt PCR portal. You must use the contact details provided to be directed to the laboratory department familiarized with Egypt PCR. If you still face a problem with accepting your application, you may reach us via [email protected]
How long until I get my results?
Your results will be issued in accordance to the turn-around-time of the selected laboratory. Kindly note that in case of any public holiday, weekend or if the test requires a confirmatory run in your respective country, the result timing may vary. Should a test result be “Borderline”, “Inconclusive” or “Repeat sample” then another application may need to be submitted and a new sample may need to be collected.
How will I receive my result certificate?
Kindly note you will receive your result report to the registered email address with us. You may also download a copy from your account. Please select the required application from application dashboard on your account, click on action, and you will have option to download a copy of the invoice.
How do I get my detailed laboratory report?
Egypt PCR Portal will share the result certificate along with the laboratory detailed report to your email.
I went to the laboratory mentioned on the portal, got an appointment and I took my test; however, I never received my result from Egypt PCR.
Please note that if you did not register via our portal, your results will not be uploaded into our system. Therefore, you will not receive a confirmation from Egypt PCR Portal.
What is the QR code on the result certificate?
The QR code on the certificate ensures that the Egypt PCR COVID-19 test result certificate is valid and can be authenticated by authorities. The report can be verified using your mobile camera to scan the QR code or via the Egypt PCR Portal verification mobile application.
Will I receive a test result certificate if my result is Borderline or Inconclusive?
You will not be issued with a result certificate if your results are “Borderline” or “Inconclusive”. These results will be shared with you via email and a new sample will be required to be collected.
I have a flight tomorrow and I still haven’t received my results.
Kindly allow enough time to complete the regulated steps required prior to travel before booking your ticket. In case your result is delayed, kindly contact the laboratory and if further help is required contact our customer service by email [email protected]
The laboratory has my results; however, I have not yet received it in my email from Egypt PCR.
Please note that once the laboratory uploads your result on our portal, you will only then receive the email from Egypt PCR with your test certificate.
How many hours should my result be valid to travel to a country?
Kindly refer to the rules and regulations in your country of departure and arrival.
I disagree with the result that the laboratory has given.

My result is Positive, what does that mean?
If your result is “Positive” this indicates that SARS COV-2 RNA was detected in the sample received by the laboratory.
What should I do if my result is Positive?
In case of a Positive result, you need to quarantine yourself in isolation to prevent further spread and contact your local health authorities immediately.
My result is Negative, what does that mean?
If your result is “Negative” this indicates that SARS COV-2 RNA was not present in the in the sample received by the laboratory.
My result is Borderline, what does that mean?
If your result is “Borderline” this suggests that the you may be infected with a SARS-CoV2. Additional testing is recommended on a newly collected sample.
My result is Inconclusive, what does that mean?
If your result is “Inconclusive” this indicates the RNA from SARS-CoV-2 could not be determined with certainty after repeat testing in the laboratory. Submission of a new sample for testing is recommended.
